AI touch to Turkish doner from Podolski: Robots will serve

Lukas Podolski is one of the most important names produced by German football in recent years. Following his time at leading European clubs such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter, Podolski came to Turkey to play for Galatasaray, and after his retirement, he made a quick entry into Turkish cuisine. Podolski, who opened his first doner restaurant in Cologne in 2018 under the name Mangal x LP10 with his Turkish partners Metin Dağ and Sedat Dağ, currently has over 40 restaurants in more than 20 cities.

According to the report by Kerim Ülker from Dünya newspaper, Podolski is preparing to combine the successful cooperation he has established with his Turkish partners with technology and take doner to a different dimension. For this, Mangal has signed an important agreement with one of Germany's famous companies, Circus Group. With the agreement made by the German artificial intelligence robot company Circus with Mangal, 2 thousand CA-1 robots will be provided. Autonomous robot technology will begin serving in branches in the Cologne and Düsseldorf regions next year. 1,800 of the robots will be in Germany and 800 will be in Poland. In other words, in a sense, Podolski and his Turkish partners will open Mangal in Poland.

CUMULATIVE SALES POTENTIAL WILL BE 400 MILLION EUROS

This agreement, which aims to transform the fast food industry with the latest technology through the world's first fully autonomous food franchise concept, will be an important milestone for both companies. If the intended cooperation is implemented successfully, Circus's cumulative sales potential from hardware sales alone will be around 400 million euros within a few years.

This collaboration aims to enable Mangal to operate fully autonomous stores and become the world's first fully autonomous food franchise.
