Air defense systems activated at the White House
Following Iran's attack on a US base in Qatar, air defense systems near the White House have been activated.
Security measures have been increased at the White House following the launch of Iran's attacks on US bases in Qatar and Iraq.
Air defense systems deployed on top of the US Secret Service headquarters, located directly across from the White House, were activated following the Iranian attacks.
As part of the security measures, restrictions on civilian air traffic have also begun to be implemented in the capital, Washington D.C.
EMERGENCY MEETING
An unnamed White House official reported that US President Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine are in the Situation Room at the White House. The meeting is expected to address the scope of Iran's attacks, the damage sustained by US military bases, and potential counter-attack options.
