Air Europa's first flight to Istanbul

A welcome ceremony was held today at the B15 gate of the arrivals floor at Istanbul Airport for the company's inaugural flight from Madrid to Istanbul. The event was attended by Spain's Ambassador to Ankara, Cristina Latorre Sancho, IGA CEO Selahattin Bilgen, Air Europa CEO Jesus Nuno de la Rosa, and other officials.

Emphasizing that the newly launched flights will make significant contributions to the development of tourism in both countries, Ambassador Sancho stated, "These flights connect the two countries with strong ties. Whether for vacation, education, or business, travel establishes a bond between people and nations. These new flights will contribute greatly to the development of tourism between the two countries."

IGA CEO Selahattin Bilgen expressed his pleasure in working with an airline that operates high-capacity aircraft, noting the following:

"This air bridge established between the two countries with the newly launched flights will not only facilitate transportation between the two cities but will also contribute significantly to the development of tourism, trade, and cultural relations. Thanks to Istanbul's strong position in international tourism and the unique connectivity potential it offers between the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe, working with such a strong partner will open new doors for our business world and our country."

Bilgen stated that the flights, which will currently operate four days a week in both directions, will be conducted daily starting in July. The program concluded after a cake-cutting and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
