AKP's Tayyar: A friend leaned over and whispered to me, 'Did you hear Özel is going to apply for a trustee for the CHP?'

CHP Aydın Deputy Bülent Tezcan announced that they are working on two fronts: pushing for a party convention decision through the Party Assembly and continuing to collect delegate signatures for an Extraordinary Convention. He stated that if the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration refuses to take the party to a convention despite these steps, they will apply to the court to request a 'call committee' (a temporary board to oversee the convention).

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP chairmanship by a court decision, had previously cited Özgür Özel's objection to the 'absolute nullity' ruling as a reason, stating, "A convention decision cannot be made before the Supreme Court process is concluded."

A surprise move has come from the Özel camp against the Kılıçdaroğlu administration, which has indicated it would block the path to a convention.

CHP Aydın Deputy Bülent Tezcan stated that if a convention is not held, they will apply to the court to request a call committee for the CHP, adding:

"On one hand, we will take a convention decision in the Party Assembly; on the other, delegate signatures have been collected. If they still do not call for a convention, we will go to court and request a call committee. You cannot attach the CHP to Erdoğan's tail."

AKP'S TAYYAR ON THE TRUSTEE ISSUE

Evaluating the steps the CHP is considering as a 'trustee' move, Şamil Tayyar shared the following in a post on his social media account:

"I was at an event, and a friend leaned over and whispered to me, 'Did you hear Özel is going to apply for a trustee for the CHP?'

I laughed and said, 'It must be a joke,' but he immediately showed me the news.

Bülent Tezcan from Özel's staff says that if the Kılıçdaroğlu administration does not take a convention decision, they will apply to the court to have a 'call committee' appointed to the CHP.

When Gürsel Tekin was appointed as the Call Committee Chairman in Istanbul, they had called it a 'trustee appointment'; now they are asking for a 'trustee' in the same way to replace Kılıçdaroğlu.
