Alarm on the Gulf front: Three countries activate air defense systems simultaneously

Tensions rose rapidly in the Gulf region during the night. Three countries simultaneously activated their defense systems against missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) stated to have been launched from Iran. Following these developments, official authorities issued a series of updates.

EXPLOSION SOUNDS IN KUWAIT

In a statement issued by the Kuwaiti army, it was noted that air defense systems were actively engaged against missile and UAV attacks. The statement explained that the sounds of explosions heard across the country were the result of air defense units working to neutralize "hostile targets."

While officials did not share additional information regarding the scope and details of the attacks, they called on the public to follow only official security warnings.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense announced that there were attempted attacks on the eastern parts of the country throughout the night. The statement reported that 30 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

In a previous update, it had been stated that 12 UAVs had been neutralized. Thus, it was reported that the total number of intercepted aerial vehicles has increased.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ALSO ON DEFENSE

A statement from the United Arab Emirates also noted that air defense systems were active against missiles and UAVs launched from Iran. The statement indicated that interventions to intercept the attacks were ongoing.
