Alarming Covid-19 report from the World Health Organization: 'Decreased by 2 years'

The report states that the Americas and Southeast Asia were the regions most affected by the pandemic.

While Covid-19 was the most common cause of death in the Americas in 2020 and 2021, Western Pacific countries were among the least affected regions by the virus.

The pandemic caused global life expectancy to fall from 73.4 years to 71.4 years between 2019 and 2021.

This situation has reversed the progress made in global average life expectancy in recent years.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that the pandemic was a global public health crisis and that international cooperation is essential to protect against similar future outbreaks.
