Bild, one of Germany's high-circulation newspapers, cited field sources in its report to raise the claim that Assad's wife, Asma al-Assad, has decided to divorce him.
The report, which claims that the couple's marriage has effectively ended, also alleges that this development has further worsened Bashar al-Assad's psychological state.
