Anti-government protests continue in Georgia: Traces of Ukraine in the demonstrations
During the ongoing opposition protests in Georgia's capital, Tbilisi, an individual carrying the flag of the Georgian National Legion, which fights alongside the Ukrainian army, drew attention. It did not go unnoticed that some participants in the protests were wearing camouflage and carrying backpacks adorned with Georgian and Ukrainian flag patches.
In the demonstrations organized by anti-government citizens in the capital Tbilisi, Georgia, the flag of the Georgian National Legion, which is part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and has been fighting in Donbas, was seen.
An individual wearing camouflage and using crutches, who has prosthetics on both legs, took to the streets to support the Georgian opposition. It was understood from the flag tied to the person's back that they had participated in the conflict in Ukraine. The individual confirmed that they had fought on the side of Kyiv in Ukraine and were wounded during that time.
It did not go unnoticed that among those participating in the demonstrations were individuals wearing camouflage and carrying backpacks adorned with Georgian and Ukrainian flag patches.
The Georgian National Legion has been included in the list of terrorist organizations in Russia, and its activities have been banned.
The Legion was established in 2014 by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
It has been reported in the press that the mercenaries in the Georgian National Legion were selected from European countries and received their training in Poland.
