Arab League postpones emergency meeting on Syria

In a press statement issued by the Arab League, it was stated that the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which was planned to be held next Sunday regarding Syria and Palestine, has been postponed to a later date.

The official Egyptian news agency MENA also reported, "The emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which was planned to be held at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters next Sunday, has been postponed to a later date."

The emergency meeting in question had been planned upon the joint request of Syria and Palestine to address the current situation in Syria and Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip and Palestinian territories.

DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA

Clashes between Assad regime forces and anti-regime armed groups began on November 27 in the western countryside of Aleppo province in northern Syria.

On November 30, anti-regime groups, which had captured most of Aleppo's city center from regime forces, established control over the entire Idlib region on the same day.

Following intense clashes, the groups captured the city center of Hama from regime forces on December 5.

In the Operation Dawn of Freedom, launched by the Syrian National Army on December 1 against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the Aleppo countryside, the Tel Rifaat district center was liberated from terrorism.
