Araghchi makes statement regarding visits to Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow

As discussions continue regarding a new negotiation process between the US and Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accelerated his diplomatic traffic.

Following reports in local media, Araghchi announced in a statement on his social media account that he would be embarking on a tour of visits covering Pakistan, Oman, and Russia.

Araghchi stated, "I am setting off to pay visits to Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow.

The purpose of these visits is to ensure close coordination with our partners on bilateral issues and to exchange views on regional developments. Our neighbors are our priority," he said.

The Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow line

The recent increase in tension between Iran and the US is affecting the course of diplomatic contacts. The talks held between the parties in Islamabad on April 11 ended without an agreement due to a lack of progress on various topics.

Despite this, it is known that contacts are continuing through regional actors. Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan and the first stop of Araghchi's tour, is among the prominent centers in this context. According to diplomatic sources, the visit aims to establish contact with Pakistani officials and prepare the ground for the negotiation process once again.

The Omani capital Muscat and the Russian capital Moscow are also among the other prominent centers in Iran's diplomatic contacts. The Omani capital, Muscat, is known as one of the primary addresses where indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington have been conducted in the past.
