Argentine prosecutors charge 3 people in connection with singer Liam's death
Argentine prosecutors have announced that three people have been charged in connection with the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne, who lost his life after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires last month.
Argentine prosecutors have announced that three people have been charged in connection with the death of singer Liam Payne, who lost his life last month after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.

Prosecutor Andrés Madrea has charged the three unnamed suspects with “abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supplying and facilitating the use of narcotics.” Madrea has requested the arrest of these individuals from Judge Laura Bruniard.
Payne lost his life after falling from the third-floor balcony of the hotel where he was staying in the upscale Palermo neighborhood of Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires. The autopsy report stated that he died from multiple injuries and internal and external hemorrhaging.
Prosecutors announced that Payne’s toxicology report showed traces of “alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant” in his system before his death.

Although investigators stated that Payne was alone at the time of the fall, prosecutors noted in their statement on Thursday that one of the charged individuals had been spending time with the singer frequently in Buenos Aires. The second person is a hotel employee alleged to have provided cocaine to Payne during his stay between October 13-16, and the third person is identified as a drug dealer.
The charges in Payne's case bear some similarities to the case surrounding the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry a year ago.

Local authorities have collected evidence such as Payne's mobile phone records, forensic materials, and witness statements. The singer's personal computer and other seized devices have not yet been examined.
Payne’s autopsy indicated that his injuries were not caused by self-harm or physical intervention by other people. The report also suggests that the lack of a protective reflex during the fall indicates he may have been unconscious.

Argentine prosecutors have also ruled out the possibility that Payne committed suicide.
