The prosecutor's office stated that the attack is being evaluated as a "domestic violence incident," while also warning that the investigation is still in its early stages.
In a statement made by the hospital, it was said, "We have received confirmed reports of an active shooter at UPMC Memorial and shots have been fired.
The shooter has been apprehended and no patients were injured.
