Armed attack in Nigeria: Many dead
It has been reported that 19 people lost their lives in an armed attack carried out in Nigeria's Kogi state.
According to reports in the national press, an attack was carried out by unidentified gunmen in the Omala region of Kogi state.
19 people lost their lives in the attack, and dozens were injured.
In the attack, where numerous houses were set on fire, food supplies belonging to local residents were looted.
Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer William Aya confirmed the incident and announced that an investigation has been launched.
Nigeria is struggling with attacks by armed gangs as well as the terrorist organizations Boko Haram and the Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP) in different regions.
