Armed attack on Islamic Center in the US

It has been reported that an armed attack took place at the Islamic Center of San Diego in the city of San Diego, California, in the United States.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria announced that they received reports of an active shooter at the center, which also serves as a mosque, in the city's Clairemont neighborhood.

In a statement on his social media account, Gloria noted that he was receiving constant updates from security forces regarding the incident and that emergency teams had been dispatched to the area.

Approximately one hour after the San Diego Police Department's initial announcement that security forces were being dispatched to the area, it was reported that the threat at the scene had been neutralized.

Local sources noted that there were numerous police vehicles on a highway bridge near the Islamic Center and in the surrounding area. Sources stated that the Islamic Center of San Diego is the largest mosque in the city.
