Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan uses scandalous language regarding the 1915 events: 'Great Catastrophe...'

Prime Minister Pashinyan published his address on the "Social Psychology of the Republic of Armenia," prepared for the political school of his ruling Civil Contract party, on his personal Facebook page.

Arguing that the forced migration of Armenians to Iran by Shah Abbas of Persia at the beginning of the 17th century had profound effects on the social psychology of the people, Pashinyan touched upon the 1915 events.

Instead of the term "genocide" commonly used in Armenia for the 1915 events, Pashinyan used the words "Great Catastrophe (Meds Yeghern)" and "massacre."

Pashinyan's words, which quickly drew reactions from opposition circles, became a major topic of discussion in the country.

Pashinyan has not yet responded to the criticisms directed at him.
