A 32-year-old man who was attacked at Liverpool Street Underground Station in London, the capital of England, has died in the hospital where he was taken in critical condition.

The British Transport Police (BTP) announced that the incident came to light following a report of an attack received on Sunday at 22:51 local time. Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the station.

It was reported that the severely injured individual was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later passed away with his family by his side. No details were shared regarding the identity of the deceased.

In connection with the attack, 38-year-old Jeremiah Maximo, who lives in Barking, has been charged with "causing grievous bodily harm." It was noted that Maximo, who is stated to be a British citizen, is being held in custody and will appear before Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

BTP Detective Chief Inspector Sam Blackburn expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and stated that the investigation is ongoing. Blackburn called on those who witnessed the incident but have not yet contacted the police, saying, "Any information could be of vital importance to us."
