The statement emphasized that emergency teams responded rapidly to the scene and stated that there were no injuries in the incident.
It had previously been reported that the US Embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, had also been attacked.
It was reported that damage occurred in the incident, but there was no loss of life.
The developments come after attacks carried out by Israel and the US against Iran on Saturday, which were reported to have caused numerous casualties.
