A tourist working as a volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary in Thailand escaped a bear attack after feeding it by cutting off his own arm.
In an incident that occurred yesterday at a wildlife sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a tourist working as a volunteer was attacked by a wild bear he was feeding.
The 32-year-old Swedish tourist, Stefan Claudio Specogna, had his right hand bitten by the bear after he got it caught inside the cage.

According to eyewitness accounts, Specogna, who had reached his arm through the iron bars to place fruit in the cage, was pulled toward the cage by the bear.
It was reported that the tourist cut off his own arm with a knife to escape the attack. Specogna was taken to the hospital following the attack, and it was learned that his life is not in danger, while an investigation into the incident has been launched.
