Attempt made to burn shutters of Turkish mosque in Germany, swastika drawn on door
As Israel targets the Palestinian people and residential areas with bombardment, tensions are rising globally. The day before yesterday, a Turkish mosque in Germany faced a racist attack.
In the town of Dahlhausen near the German city of Bochum, the shutters of the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, affiliated with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DİTİB), were attempted to be set on fire, and swastika and Star of David symbols were drawn on its door.
Güngör Kadir Güven, President of the DİTİB Dahlhausen Sultan Ahmet Mosque Association, stated that the congregation arriving for morning prayers discovered the attack on the mosque last night.

Stating that an attempt was first made to set the mosque on fire, Güven said, "Later, a swastika and a Star of David symbol were drawn on the entrance door. Fortunately, despite several attempts, the shutter did not catch fire; had it caught fire, it would have been a disaster. We condemn this attack on the mosque in the strongest possible terms. We demand that the perpetrator or perpetrators be caught and brought to justice as soon as possible."

Expressing that they, as the mosque management and congregation, are concerned, Güven stated that they have shared information regarding the attack with the police.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
