According to reports in the national press, police intervened against a 33-year-old British citizen who was trying to climb the Eiffel Tower, one of the symbols of the capital Paris, which is being visited by millions of tourists during the Olympics.
While the Eiffel Tower was briefly evacuated during the incident, the man attempting to climb the tower was taken into custody.
Footage circulating on social media showed the shirtless individual climbing the section located above the Olympic rings, which are placed between the first and second floors of the Eiffel Tower.
The 2024 Olympic Games, which France is hosting for the first time in 100 years and which began on July 26, conclude today.
