Azerbaijan condemns missile attack neutralized in Turkish airspace
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has condemned the ballistic missile attack launched from Iran that was neutralized within Turkey's airspace.
Azerbaijan has issued a statement regarding the ballistic missile launched from Iran that was neutralized in Turkey's airspace.
In a statement released by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, it was noted that the missile attack, which was destroyed by NATO air defense assets, is condemned.
The statement included the following remarks: "We strongly condemn the missile attack directed at the territory of brotherly Turkey. This is a grave violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity. Such actions are an unacceptable escalation and a direct threat to regional stability. We once again declare our solidarity with brotherly Turkey."
In the official statement regarding the incident by the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), it was reported that the munition was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense assets stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Ministry stated that necessary measures against all types of threats are being taken with determination and that discussions have been held with the relevant country, Iran.
Iran: "No munition has been launched from Iran toward Turkey"
In a statement made by the Iranian Embassy in Ankara, it was stated that no munition had been launched toward Turkey.
The statement read: "Following the publication of reports regarding the detection of munitions entering Turkey's airspace, we would like to emphasize the following point: No munition has been launched from Iran toward Turkey.
Considering the recent meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as the contacts between the foreign ministers of the two countries, Iran has announced its readiness to form a joint technical team to examine this issue in detail in order to resolve any ambiguity. As previously stated, Iran respects the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of its friendly and neighboring country, Turkey."
