Baby-faced criminal: Former beauty queen turns out to be an arms trafficker

Bolivia's former beauty queen and winner of Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020 and Miss Charm Bolivia 2023, 22-year-old Alondra Mercado Campos, has been arrested on charges of arms trafficking. The young woman was known for the erotic photos she shared on Instagram and her success in beauty pageants. However, a search of Campos's home revealed a large quantity of weapons and AK-47 ammunition.

Alondra Mercado Campos is currently being held at the Trinidad Women's Prison in Beni. Police have launched an investigation into the weapons and ammunition found in Campos's home.

According to prosecutors, forensic tests conducted on Campos's car may provide evidence for drug-related charges. Furthermore, Campos's partner, whose name has not been disclosed, is currently a fugitive and is being sought for questioning on charges of drug trafficking.

Beni Department Assistant Prosecutor Geraldo Balderas stated, "Her boyfriend is being investigated for trafficking controlled substances and is a fugitive. Videos found on the mobile phone seized from Campos revealed that she and her partner were involved with the illegal weapons confiscated by the police."
