The Bank of England (BoE) has kept its policy interest rate steady at 5.25 percent, a 16-year high, while BoE Governor Andrew Bailey stated that more evidence is needed to ensure inflation will fall sustainably to the target level.
Six members of the BoE's nine-member Monetary Policy Committee voted to keep the policy rate at 5.25 percent.
