Barzani warns Damascus administration against 'ethnic cleansing'

In a statement regarding the clashesin Aleppo, Barzani stated,"The dangerous situation, war, and violence currently unfolding in Aleppo are asource of great concern,posing a threat to the lives of the civilian population and innocent citizens and creating a dangerHe stated thatthere is a threat of ethnic cleansingagainst Kurds in the region.

Inhisstatement, Barzani addressed the Syrian authorities, saying, "Political disputes should not turn into a national (ethnic) conflict."preventthedisplacement. Do not allow Kurdish citizensto be forcibly driven from their ancestral landsand prevent them from being subjected tooppression," he stated. Barzani also issued a callto the Syrian Democratic Forces,urging them to stop the bloodshedto stop the bloodshed andend the clashes,urging them to do everythingin their power.

In his statement,Barzani included the following remarks:

“The political changes in Syria, the Kurdish people in Syriathe legitimate rights of thebeing ignored and all problemsof finding a suitable solution to resolvewas a good opportunity. To this endwith all parties; all kinds of problems and disagreements through dialogue and peaceful meansby means that should be resolvedin the face of which we have made great efforts.

However, the dangerous situation currently prevailing in the city of Aleppo, the warand the violence bis a source of great concern; it poses athreat to the lives of innocent civilians and carries the dangerof ethnic cleansingagainst the Kurds in theregion.

We call on the Syrian authorities to ensure that political disputes do not turn into a national (ethnic) conflict.not to turntoconflict;I demand that regarding the issues in the Aleppo region, Kurdish citizensnot be subjected to pressure, violence, displacement from their ancestral lands,and ethnic cleansing.I demand that they not be allowed to be exposed to these.

Furthermore, the KI call on all parties, especially the (SDF), to doeverything intheir power to stop the fighting andprevent further bloodshed; I want both sides toresort to dialogue and negotiation to resolve their issues. I do not wantpolitical disagreements to endanger the lives of civilians and the KKurdish peopleleading to ethnic cleansing againstcannotbe allowed; thisis a crime against humanityand willlead to very dangerous consequences.”
