Belgium to discuss recognizing the State of Palestine
Belgian Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez announced that the Belgian government will discuss recognizing the State of Palestine tomorrow.
Belgian Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez, in a statement on her X account, called on Israel to "stop starving civilians and children, and allow sufficient humanitarian aid into Gaza."
"A BLATANT VIOLATION OF LAW"
Pointing to the additional provisional measures ordered against Israel by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the genocide case filed by South Africa, Gennez stated, "The ICJ rulings are clear. Using starvation as a weapon of war is a blatant violation of international law. We must maintain international pressure. The recognition of the State of Palestine will be on the government's agenda tomorrow."
In its additional provisional measures today, the ICJ ruled that Israel must ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and must not violate the rights of Palestinians.
