Biden says 'Iran will not attack Israel': He also revealed his condition
As discussions continue regarding when and how Iran will retaliate against Israel following the assassination of Haniyeh, US President Joe Biden stated in his remarks that Iran will not attack Israel on the condition that a ceasefire is reached.
US President Joe Biden responded to a reporter's question about whether he expects Iran to delay a retaliatory attack against Israel if a deal is reached on a ceasefire and the release of hostages by saying, "That is my expectation."
When asked if the chances of a ceasefire deal were diminishing, Biden said, "It's getting harder, but I'm not giving up. We'll see what Iran does. We'll see what happens."
ISRAEL'S ANXIETY OVER RETALIATION CONTINUES
Iran had announced that it would retaliate for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, but it has not yet done so. This situation has kept Israel on edge for two weeks.
The US, Egypt, and Qatar will hold a summit on Thursday aimed at finalizing a hostage deal. Hamas has stated that it will not attend the summit.
Israel has agreed to send a delegation, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing increasing criticism for adding new demands that critics say are intended to block a deal. The Prime Minister insists that his latest proposal contains only clarifications rather than any new demands.
