Blinken: 'Too many' Palestinians have died in Gaza
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that "too many" Palestinians have been killed in Israel's attacks on Gaza.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital New Delhi as part of his visit to India, Blinken said, "There is more that needs to be done to protect civilians and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches them."
Blinken stated, "Far too many Palestinians have been killed, far too many have suffered in these past few weeks. We want to do everything possible to prevent harm to them and to maximize the assistance that gets to them."
"WE ARE SEEING PROGRESS"
Stating that the US has offered additional proposals for the protection of civilians in Gaza, Blinken also commented on the creation of two "humanitarian corridors" for civilians in the northern Gaza Strip to "escape," saying, "This is a process and it's not always like flipping a light switch. We are seeing progress. We just need to see more progress."
Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met today with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Indian Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh within the framework of the "2+2 dialogue."
India was the final stop on Blinken's 9-day Asian diplomatic tour, which focused on Israel's attacks on Gaza.
