Bomb alert again in France: Palace of Versailles being evacuated
Like the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre Museum in Paris was also evacuated on Saturday due to a bomb threat. Police searches did not find any trace of a bomb.
A bomb alert has been issued at the Palace of Versailles, located approximately 20 kilometers south of the French capital, Paris.
Palace of Versailles officials announced that the palace, which was evacuated due to a bomb threat, will remain closed for the rest of the day.
The institution stated in a post on its social media account, "For security reasons, the Palace of Versailles is evacuating visitors and closing its doors for the day. Thank you for your understanding."
On October 14, one day after a teacher was killed by a radicalized individual, bomb threats that turned out to be hoaxes led to the evacuation of the Louvre Museum, the Palace of Versailles, and the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris.
