Members of Congress Joe Courtney, Jim Himes, John Larson, and Jahana Hayes made a statement regarding the threats.

The Democratic members stated that they were targeted by bomb threats during phone calls.

Noting that they condemn such threats and all political violence, the Democratic members expressed that they have requested assistance from law enforcement.

Law enforcement later stated in a comment to CNN that they found no evidence of a bomb threat as a result of their investigations and that all four members are safe with their families.

Stating that such calls can be made by individuals abroad, law enforcement pointed out that they generally involve scenarios containing various threats, and can sometimes be for the purpose of attention or entertainment.

Some of US President-elect Donald Trump's new cabinet nominees, including Lee Zeldin, the nominee for administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Elise Stefanik, the nominee for Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), John Ratcliffe, the nominee for director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and Pete Hegseth, the nominee for Secretary of Defense, had stated in statements made on various platforms this week that they and their family members had faced certain threats.

Officials from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also announced yesterday that they are taking "potential threats" against some of the individuals nominated for Trump's new cabinet seriously.
