It has been reported that the number of people who died from bootleg alcohol in India has risen to 53.
The number of people who lost their lives due to bootleg alcohol in the Tamil Nadu state in southern India has risen to 53.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, state official M.S. Prasanth stated that approximately 190 people were taken under treatment in various hospitals due to bootleg alcohol in the Kallakurichi region. Prasanth announced that the number of those who lost their lives from the bootleg alcohol has risen to 53.
Police have detained 7 suspects as part of the investigation into the matter and destroyed 250 liters of bootleg alcohol seized in the Tiruchirapalli region.
In the state of Bihar, where an alcohol ban has been in effect for 7 years in India, 20 people lost their lives due to bootleg alcohol in 2023.
