Boycott against Trump begins in Europe: US products are being marked

Supermarkets in Denmark have begun adding a 'single star' next to labels to identify products that are not imported from the US. This system, implemented in major market chains such as Føtex, Netto, and Bilka, is receiving significant support from the public.

In Germany, 47 percent of consumers state they definitely prefer to buy EU-made goods, while 30 percent say they would prefer EU products. An 11 percent segment opposes the boycott of the US. This practice is expected to spread to other European Union countries as well.

On social media platforms, posts calling on consumers to prefer domestic and European-origin products are becoming widespread. Reports in the foreign press indicate that the perspective on the US in Europe has shifted in a negative direction recently.

FRENCH PEOPLE REFUSE TO CONSUME AMERICAN PRODUCTS

It has been noted that citizens in France are refusing to consume various American brands to protest the US administration's trade policies. It is claimed that boycott campaigns targeting products from companies such as Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and Starbucks are steadily expanding.

Public opinion polls have revealed that approximately 60 percent of the French support this action. One-third of the participants stated that they are personally participating in the boycott.

According to a report by France24, participation in the protest movement was seen more intensely among highly educated and left-leaning segments. The additional taxes imposed by the US President on French wines were among the main reasons for the backlash.
