Brazil's imprisoned former President Jair Bolsonaro fell and was injured.

In a statement, Bolsonaro and his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, explained that Bolsonaro fell while he was sleeping,andhiskneeand hit his headand stated that hesaid, "We are going to the hospital. My love will be examined."

Right-wing and advocating for greater military control, Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro, for his second term, ran in the 2022 presidential election which he lost.He did not accept his defeat after losing the elections to the current leftist Brazilian PresidentLuiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Bolsonaro,during the period when his supporterscalled on the military to intervene,left for the U.S.two days beforeSilva's inauguration ceremony.and this development was described by the local press as an "escape."
