Famous American pop star Britney Spears will be required to continue paying child support to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, despite her younger son Jayden turning 18 this week. The famous star also continues to pay child support for the couple's other son, 19-year-old Sean.

Both of Spears and Federline's sons are legally considered adults. However, the couple's children have not yet graduated from high school.

According to Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, California law requires parents to continue paying child support until the child graduates from high school, regardless of whether the child is 18 years old.

Kaplan stated in a statement to People magazine, 'Under California law, child support jurisdiction continues until the minor child reaches the age of 18 or, if the child has not yet graduated from high school on their 18th birthday, until they graduate from high school, but in no case does child support continue after their 19th birthday.'

In the report by People, a statement from an unnamed source 'close to Spears' was included:

'Britney has plans for her sons' future and will do everything in her power, and will continue to love and support them.'
