Building tilts sideways in Taiwan earthquake!
A 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck Taiwan. A building damaged in the quake has tilted sideways.
A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Hualien in eastern Taiwan yesterday at 02:27 local time.
A 7-story hotel tilted sideways during the earthquake.
Footage captured by security cameras showed a cloud of dust covering the surrounding area as the building tilted.
Officials stated that the hotel was empty due to ongoing renovations and that no injuries occurred.
Security personnel who arrived at the scene cordoned off the street where the building is located and warned bystanders not to approach the hotel.
It was stated that the hotel would be completely demolished shortly.
At least 17 people lost their lives and 1,146 people were injured in the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Hualien on April 3.
