Call for 'humanitarian pause' from France
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna stated that the breakdown of the "humanitarian pause" in Gaza is regrettable, saying, "We are calling for the continuation of the humanitarian pause."
Colonna made a statement to the French press regarding the end of the humanitarian pause in Gaza.
Noting that the end of the "humanitarian pause" in Gaza is extremely bad and regrettable news, Colonna said, "This provides no solution and makes it harder to resolve all outstanding questions. We are calling for the continuation of the humanitarian pause."
Colonna pointed out that this humanitarian pause must continue in order for the release of hostages to proceed, for more humanitarian aid to reach Gaza, and for that aid to be distributed.
Stating that the parties must return to the negotiating table and that a "humanitarian pause" is also necessary for a two-state solution, Colonna assessed, "We know this is the only viable solution, and we must continue to work on it."
