Call from UNICEF: 'We demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire'
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) stated, "The situation in Gaza is horrific; we demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire."
UNICEF Executive Director Russell stated in a post on the social media platform X, "The killing and captivity of children is a stain on us all. It must end."

Emphasizing that UNICEF is only in contact with a few of its staff in the Gaza Strip, Russell assessed, "The situation in Gaza is horrific. We reiterate our call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and safe access."
THE LATEST SITUATION IN GAZA
Due to Israel's intense attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip, landline, mobile phone, and internet communication services in the region have been completely cut off.
The Israeli army announced that it is increasing its airstrikes and will expand its ground operations.
Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health facility in Gaza where thousands of wounded people and civilians are located, has also been targeted by the Israeli army.
