As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, Canada is preparing to suspend arms sales to Israel.
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly stated in an announcement that Canada will stop future arms exports to Israel, noting that this would be a real move rather than a symbolic one.
The Canadian parliament yesterday passed a non-binding motion to halt arms sales to Israel by a vote of 204 to 117.
The motion also called on the international community to work toward a two-state solution to resolve the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
