Ceasefire statement from Biden

Pressure on US President Joe Biden's Gaza policy is mounting, and no results have been achieved regarding a reduction in attacks on civilians by Israel.

Biden, who held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, refused to provide details about their conversation. “We had a private conversation. I did not ask for a ceasefire.”

The US-based newspaper The Washington Post included claims regarding the content of the conversation between the two. According to this, Netanyahu made a request to Biden. He asked the US President to pressure Egypt to accept some of the Gazans. President Biden, in turn, conveyed to Netanyahu that Egypt "does not see this as an option."

It was stated that Netanyahu also directed this request to French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, but received a negative response.

Another point of disagreement between Israel and the US concerns the future of Gaza. The Biden administration wants Palestinians to return to the places from which they were evacuated after the conflicts in the region end. It is alleged that the Israeli Prime Minister does not "look favorably" upon this proposal and has voiced the idea of an "indefinite occupation."
