The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that a KC-135 refueling aircraft has crashed in Iraq.

The statement noted that the accident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and that recovery efforts are ongoing.

Stating that two aircraft were involved in the incident, the statement said, "One of the aircraft crashed in western Iraq, while the other landed safely. This accident was not caused by enemy fire or friendly fire. Detailed information will be provided to the public as more details emerge."
