Charlie Kirk to be awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously

U.S. President Donald Trump honored 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed in an armed attack while giving a speech at Utah Valley University, during a memorial ceremony held at the Pentagon for the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Trump stated that Kirk was a significant figure of his generation and a defender of freedom, announcing that he would be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to keep his memory alive.

In his speech, Trump said, "Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of freedom, and someone who inspired millions of people.

Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, Erika, and his beautiful children. They are wonderful people. We will miss him very much.

Nevertheless, I have no doubt that Charlie's voice, and especially the courage he instilled in the hearts of young people, will continue to live on.

I am pleased to announce that Charlie Kirk will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously. The date of the ceremony will be announced, and I can guarantee you one thing: there will be a very large crowd," he stated.
