Child activists in Germany: 'Help! Your children'
An environmental group in Germany painted "Help! Your children" on the Chancellery building
In Berlin, the capital of Germany, the environmental group "Last Generation" (Letzte Generation) protested the government's climate policy by painting "Help! Your children" (Hilfe! Eure Kinder) in orange on the front facade of the Chancellery building.
Demonstrators belonging to the "Last Generation" group carried banners reading "You are killing us" and "No right to vote, no money, no power."
The child activists, aged 13-16, who also held a sit-in protest in front of the Chancellery, were taken into custody for identification.
In a statement released by the "Last Generation" group, they drew attention to the climate crisis and called on the German government to recognize its responsibility toward the younger generation regarding this issue and to fulfill the requirements of that responsibility.
