The Chinese Embassy in Washington has reported that there are no consultations or negotiations between China and the US regarding tariffs, and that no agreement is on the table.
In the statement from the Chinese Embassy, it was emphasized that the US was the party that initiated the tariff war, and the following expressions were used: "If the US truly wants to resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation, it must immediately correct its mistakes, end threats and blackmail, completely lift unilateral additional customs duties on China, and establish a dialogue with China based on equality, respect, and mutual benefit."
The statement, which pointed out that mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are the correct methods for developing relations between China and the US in the new era, said, "Saying on one hand that you want to reach an agreement with China, while on the other hand constantly applying extreme pressure on China, is neither the right method to improve relations nor will it work."
