Chinese spy in Germany: He will not withdraw his candidacy

In Germany, Maximilian Krah, a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the far-right populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has announced that he will not withdraw his candidacy for the European Parliament elections to be held in June, despite the revelation that an employee working for him was spying on behalf of China.

Krah made a press statement in Berlin following his meeting with AfD leaders Alice Weidel and Tino Chrupalla.

Stating that he has terminated the employment of his staffer, identified as Jian G., who was revealed to be spying for China, Krah said he would not withdraw his candidacy for the European Parliament elections in June.

Krah said, "I am the best candidate and I will remain so. The issue now is to refocus the election campaign on European issues and move away from this unpleasant matter."

On the other hand, reports in the German press stated that a campaign video featuring Krah would not be released and that his party might not use his image on campaign posters, meaning he would not be featured prominently in election activities.
