CIA Director Burns travels to the Middle East
It has been reported that CIA Director Bill Burns has traveled to the Middle East to hold talks aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, it has been reported that US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Bill Burns has traveled to the Middle East as part of efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
According to reports in the US press citing intelligence sources, Burns held talks in Egypt on Wednesday and visited Qatar on Thursday. While it was stated that Burns' Middle East visit did not include Israel, it was learned that a "quadripartite" meeting involving the intelligence chiefs of Egypt and Israel and the Prime Minister of Qatar was not on the agenda.
HE HAD MET WITH THE QATARI PRIME MINISTER
Burns, who is leading US President Joe Biden's efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Washington earlier this week. It had previously been reported that Burns had held meetings with Qatari, Egyptian, and Israeli officials.
