In an interview on a U.S. television program, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib made statements regarding Israel's attacks on Lebanon. Habib stated that an agreement for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah had been reached shortly before September 27. According to Habib's statement, despite the agreement, Israel assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on September 27.
Addressing the war between Israel and Lebanon, Habib emphasized that Lebanon would defend itself to the end. Habib also stated that the problems between the two countries stem from Israel.
Speaking to the U.S. television network PBS, Habib provided important information regarding the clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

According to Habib's statements, peace talks, which were occasionally joined by the U.S. and France, have been ongoing since October 8, 2023, when Israel and Hezbollah began mutual attacks.
Stating that Lebanon is 'not the party adopting an aggressive stance,' Habib also noted that the negotiations conducted between the two countries had been concluded.
According to Habib, before the attack on September 27 in which Nasrallah was killed, Israel and Hezbollah had agreed on the terms of a ceasefire. However, after the ceasefire agreement was reached, Israel killed Nasrallah in an airstrike.
The Foreign Minister described this situation by saying, 'That is the kind of country Israel is.'
If Habib's claims are true, this means that Israel is deliberately continuing the war.
There has been no response from Israel to Habib's statements yet. The U.S. Department of State has also not made a statement regarding the matter.
