Claims emerge that the US is preparing new attack options for Iran: MOAB option also on the table

It has been alleged that US President Donald Trump has requested the preparation of new attack options in case military operations against Iran resume. According to claims attributed to US officials, the plans include Iran's energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and the potential use of the MOAB munition, known for its high destructive power.

The claims have intensified debates over the possibility that the war, which began with the US attack on Iran on February 28, 2026, could escalate once again. Sources close to the matter stated that the US military is making preparations to restart combat operations should Trump issue the order.

A source speaking to CNN said that Trump has instructed the military to prepare additional attack packages against Iran. According to the same sources, possible options include the possibility of returning to operations before or immediately after the midterm elections in the US.

MOAB AND KAZMA MOUNTAIN CLAIMS

It was claimed that in addition to numerous energy infrastructure targets, the MOAB, known as the "mother of all bombs," is also being evaluated in the plans. Another source suggested that Iran's Kazma Mountain is included in military plans and that the use of a MOAB in this region is explicitly envisioned.

Kazma Mountain has been on the agenda due to allegations regarding a nuclear facility believed to be located underground. It is stated that Israel believes the Iranian administration is hiding a portion of its enriched uranium stockpiles and advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges in this area.

However, the information provided does not mean that a definitive decision has been made regarding the use of a MOAB. According to the sources, this option is one of the topics being evaluated within possible military scenarios.

In a statement on Tuesday, Trump brought up the possibility of an attack on the region, saying, "We will most likely hit that region very soon. And there is nothing they can do about it."

The Iranian administration, for its part, has issued a warning against a possible attack on its nuclear facilities. A statement in Iranian state media indicated that if the US targets nuclear facilities in Iran, it would expand the scope of the war in the region.

The last known combat use of a MOAB occurred in Afghanistan on April 13, 2017. At that time, the US used the munition to target a tunnel and cave complex used by ISIS. It is noted that if the plan is implemented, it would be the first time the US has used this munition against Iran.
