Claims that US Vice President Vance will visit Israel

The US press has claimed that Vice President James David Vance will pay an official visit to Israel.

Citing Israeli and US officials, the US-based news site Axios stated that the visit Vance will make on October 20 is part of Washington's pressure to implement a peace agreement aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli officials also said that the visit in question is a message that the administration of US President Donald Trump wants to see the peace plan in Gaza fully implemented as soon as possible.

"HE WILL LEAD THE DELEGATION"

In a statement made yesterday morning local time, US officials had indicated that Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, was expected to visit the region tomorrow to monitor the implementation of the agreement.

However, Israeli officials reported that a statement made yesterday evening from the White House to the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Vice President Vance would lead the US delegation making the visit.

Witkoff is still expected to pay an official visit to Israel next week, accompanied by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. A US official suggested that Witkoff and Kushner would accompany Vance on his visit and continue working on the implementation of the agreement.
