Condolence messages following the death of Trump-supporting activist Charlie Kirk

Rubio expressed his and his wife Jeanette's sadness over Kirk's death, stating, "Charlie Kirk's commitment to America's future generations and his sense of patriotism will resonate for decades to come."

Treasury Secretary Bessent also expressed his sadness, emphasizing that such an event "has no place in a civilized society."

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kennedy also highlighted that Kirk fought for freedom of speech in the country, assessing that, "A bullet has once again silenced one of the most effective truth-tellers of an era."

Former President Barack Obama stated that he would pray for Kirk's wife and children, adding, "We do not yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but such heinous violence has no place in our democracy."

Former President Joe Biden also remarked, "There is no place for this kind of violence in our country. It must end. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk's family and loved ones."

SUBJECTED TO ARMED ATTACK

Charlie Kirk, an activist and social media influencer who supported President Donald Trump, was subjected to an armed attack in the US state of Utah.

Kirk, who was attending an event held at Utah Valley University, was targeted by a bullet of unknown origin while he was giving a speech in an open area.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, a non-profit organization aimed at spreading conservative ideas to students on university campuses in the US, was followed by 5.2 million people on the US-based social media platform X and 7.3 million on TikTok.
