Controversial 'C-130' post from the Hellenic Air Force

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) had announced that 20 soldiers were martyred after a C-130 type cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces, which had taken off from Azerbaijan to return to Ankara, crashed near the Georgian border.

Following the crash of the Turkish Armed Forces' C-130 cargo plane and the martyrdom of our 20 soldiers, a controversial post was made by the Hellenic Air Force.

In the post, photos of a C-130 aircraft were shared with the caption "Photos of the day!". It was observed that the post was deleted after receiving backlash.

Retired Rear Admiral and CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu, who reacted to the post, wrote the following:

"An example of a problematic approach that the Ministry of National Defense should bring to the agenda during the ongoing confidence-building measures talks with Greece!"

THEY DELETED THE POST, PUBLISHED A CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Hellenic Air Force removed the insolent post titled "Photo of the day" featuring C-130 cargo planes from its official social media account. Later, a condolence message for the military cargo plane crash in Georgia was published from the account under the title "Condolence letter from the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff to his Turkish counterpart".

The message stated, "Dear General, I heard the tragic news that 20 Turkish Air Force personnel lost their lives as a result of the crash of a C-130 type aircraft belonging to the Turkish Air Force. I am writing to you in shock and sadness. This terrible news was received with great sorrow. Words cannot fully describe such a tragedy and express the great pain and sadness of losing your personnel. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. On behalf of the Hellenic Air Force and myself, please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences, and convey my deepest sympathies to the families and the Turkish Air Force personnel."
