Council member detained in Kyrgyzstan: Had called for overthrowing the government

In a statement issued by the Press Center of the country's State Committee for National Security, it was stated that N.C.K., a member of the Kerben City Local Council in the Jalal-Abad Region, was detained as part of ongoing investigations and prosecutions regarding mass riots.

The statement noted that N.C.K., who was an active social media user, "periodically published biased and provocative materials, including calls for organizing mass riots and the violent overthrow of the government."

PLANS TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT FOILED TWICE THIS YEAR

On July 5, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported that a large number of weapons, ammunition, and materials belonging to a five-member group identified as planning to overthrow the government had been seized.

The State Committee for National Security also conducted an operation on January 11 against a group preparing to overthrow the government through a popular uprising. In a photograph shared by security forces regarding the operation and search activities, the book "Yol Mülahazaları" (Reflections on the Path), written by the leader of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), Fethullah Gülen, was seen on a mirror in a bedroom during a search of a house.
